Zimbabwe
Deaf Sign Language Posters
TThe deaf community in Zimbabwe is very marginalized with very little interaction between general society and the deaf. Sign language is the language of the deaf but very few people outside their community understand or can learn this language. In school a deaf child can be understood but at a clinic, at the police station and even at home there is very little understanding.

Transportation for Centro de Encontro in Maputo
House All of the organisations activities are located on the outskirts of town and often at different locations, and stores and markets are mostly more in the center of the city therefore not close to the projects
locations. What is most urgent at this point is transportation to and from these locations. The organisation is looking for a reasonable bus or truck with the possibility of placing seats in the back.

Water
for Danda Kharka village
In 2009 four villages near Mude, Nepal, received
water through active participation of the Namaste Foundation Breda and a
donation by Moments of Joy. One of the villages, Danda Kharka, in that
area could't get the access to water as it was located on higher grounds
and the cost of bringing water up-hill would be enormous. So every time
the villagers need water they have to walk down to a neighboring village.
Water is not only essential for the households but also for their cattle
and crops...

Soccer shoes and balls for the soccer club for poor children from the slums of Maputo
One of the most successful projects
of Centro de Encontro is the soccer school the lions of Laulane .
The children from this particular section of the soccer school live in a
different part of town: Xipamanine the largest en poorest slum of Maputo.
These boys live in a place where they are confronted with violence, drugs
and prostitution on a daily base. It is especially for this reason that
Centro de Encontro tries very hard to keep this part of the soccer school
active. So the kids can - at least for the duration of one soccer game - be
away from that violent existence....

Vocational training for street children in Maputo
Centro de Encontro has developed many projects in Maputo over the past 17 years for street children in Maputo. Among them a school for the extremely poor children that live in the streets of Maputo; this is their only chance for an
education. The school follows the required state curriculum with a final exam after fifth grade high school. Unfortunately statistics have shown that for young people between the age of 16 and 20 yrs it is very hard to find a job.

Tables,
benches and plates for School of Hope
The School of Hope is a primary school in one of the
poorest neighborhoods of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. The school was
set up by foreign volunteers for children from slums, who would not
otherwise get an education. The school is virtually free of charge. (Parents
are asked to around 8 Euro Cent per month to show their commitment.)..
