Casa Familia e Vida is an
organisation, founded in 1998, which has the development of educational
activities, for children that live in the streets in the suburbs of Sao
Paulo, as its main goal. Ditte Kuiper is the person in charge of all these
activities. Moments of Joy has supported projects of Casa Familia e Vida
before. The project that was to be undertaken this time was the covered sports field next to the organisations
Housing. This sports field is not only used by the children of Casa Familia e Vida but also by children in the neighbourhood and neighbouring schools. The sports field was in very poor
shape, the roof was ready to cave in and the field had been closed because it had become too
dangerous.
This field has now been restored/repaired and is in full use again thanks to the donation by Moments of
Joy. Because of the weather in that area, the rain can come down very
heavily, it is a super benefit that this sports field has a roof. It therefore makes the field available not only for sports but also for small parties and other neighbourhood
activities. This way the children can forget their troubled day to day problems and simply be a child
again.
Casa Familia e Vida was
initialized in 1998 in the suburbs of São Paulo, Brazil. A
“home” for approx. 25 children from 0 – 18 years old, who were
left alone or couldn’t live at home anymore, was founded.
Next to the house there is a covered sports
field. It is a nice place to blow off some steam for the children
that live in the “home” as well as children from the
neighbourhood and neighbouring schools without outside sports
facilities.
The basket has come down from the wall and the roof has started to
crack in several places which has resulted in the sports field being
closed down. The Foundation would love to repair the field which
will cost them € 2750,-. This will give them a new roof and a new
basketball ring and years of playing to look forward to.
