Benches and carpet for orphanage, Zimbabwe

  • Moments-of-joy op Facebook

Queen Elizabeth Home is an orphanage and shelter for orphans and abused and abandoned children in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

The Home is run by the Seventh Adventist Church and cares for 30 children from 11 months to 10 years old. Some of the children are hiv-positive. Some funds for the home are raised by the staff by running a pre-school and some well-wishers make donations. In the home's 50-year existence, the furniture has come to a state of disrepair and it is impossible to replace it now that everybody is concentrating on food budgets. For the children's lounge Moments of Joy paid for 6 benches (new) and 1 carpet (2nd hand).
