Blankets for homeless tobacco workers in Chimanimani, Zimbabwe, 170 Euros

Agricultural workers on a tobacco plantation in Zimbabwe were unemployed and homeless when the plantation was confiscated by the rebels - who were unimpeded by the government - when they appropriated farms owned by white people as part of "land reform".

The workers sat alongside the roads for weeks, without any means of subsistence. The local church organized emergency help but had insufficient means and asked for blankets and plastic cups.

The representative of Moments of Joy in Zimbabwe purchased 30 blankets and plastic cups for 170 Euros; the owner of the shop donated another 20 blankets, whereupon 50 blankets and cups could be brought to the group in need.
