The Fundación Pescador de Letras ("letter fishermen") foundation provides assistance to 128 underprivileged children aged three to twelve from the La Boquilla district, Cartagena, which consists mainly of fishermen.
The foundation, a Colombian-Dutch initiative, maintains the Pescador de Letras primary school.
The school closed during the lockdowns. All children received self-study packages and teachers are available all day by mobile phone & WhatsApp.
In the meantime, the parents lack income due to the Corona measures.
The foundation therefore tries to distribute food packages to families twice a month, with the help of (local) donations. Medicine and soap are also needed.
