Lunches and decors for musical by children of asylum centers, the Netherlands
Children in the centres for asylum seekers in the Netherlands have little to do, especially during the summer holidays. TOV Foundation produced a musical in which these children had a role.
A fun summer for the children, more contact between the different nationalities in the centre and - as a result of performances at local schools - a step towards integration of the centre in the surrounding area.. Moments of Joy paid for the lunches during rehearsals, so that there was no need to go home during lunch breaks (€ 1750,--).
The musical was a great success, very professional too, all shows were sold out. The success led to the organisation of a second musical, for children of another asylumcenter.
