Preventie van de overdracht van HIV van ouder op kind, Zimbabwe, 700 Euro

  • Moments-of-joy op Facebook
The Mpilo support group for the Prevention of Parent-to-child transmission of HIV - is set up by Médecins Sans Frontières [MSF] (Doctors Without Borders) for mothers with aids in Harare, Zimbabwe.

They offer peer counselling, psychosocial support, capacity building and information empowerment in the Ol Clinic Information Center. Antiretrovirals are offered for free to mothers with HIV/AIDS.

The MSF asked the representative of Moments of Joy for a television and VCR to be able to show films and other educational programmes to the growing number of women who are joining the group. Apparently, the MSF could not pay for these because this support group is not an official MSF activity. A second hand set was bought for 700 Euro.
