Schoolfunds for underprivileged children, Jasri, Bali, Indonesia

Children from underprivileged families in the village of Jasri on Bali in Indonesia in the age of 6 - 12 years old attend the primary school at one of the poorest schools in Bali. Sekolah Dasar no. 6 . The parents of children attending this school have to pay for schooluniform, sportsclothing, (sports) shoes, books, notebooks and pens themselves. Cost for these items are approx. € 70,-- per annum.  If the parents don't have the money they can borrow it. The debts they make for their children is often the reason parents take their children out of school. If the children can find a sponsor this can be avoided. Also with an education the children will have better chances for better (paid) work in the future.

4 Anak anak Jasri was founded by Ruud and José Vermeulen (both with a background in education). Their goal is to make education available for the poorest children of Jasri, which is located in the east of Bali. Jasri is poor, there is not much agriculture, hardly any industry and little tourisme, which is concentrated in other parts of Bali. Unemployment is more than 50%. 
The Vermeulen's work for nothing. The only person being paid is a teacher that does the administration for the school - this is an amount of 1.500.000 roepia (approx. € 100,--)

4 Anak anak Jasri was founded 3 years ago. It sponsors 34 of the 137 pupils of the primary school thanks to donations from, amongst others, Moments of Joy.
Quite a few children have finished their primary education and the hope is now that the children continue their education on Middleschool. This Middleschool takes 3 years and costs are € 140,- per year per child to sponsor. 

Apart from the plans for sponsoring of children in Middleschool it is also important to monitor the children in the Primary School and to watch out for children that stop coming to school because of their homesituation. For this monitoring the foundation would like a small contribution of € 280,-- . This will cover the cost of 4 children for 1 year.
